Drive Against Malaria is 30 years old! In 1988, the driven British philanthropist David Robertson started the world's first campaign dedicated to the fight against malaria. The situation in 1988 was more than dire.
The disease caused a shocking 500,000,000 malaria infection victims per year! And at that time there was not a single aid organization that made a stand against this dreaded disease. DAM has since ensured that millions of people receive help, especially in the most affected continent, Africa.
In 2005, Drive Against Malaria pleaded on 'Africa Malaria Day' during the conference in Lusaka for the UN, WHO, Ministers and Presidents, the GlobalFund, for more attention with a new weapon to tackle the disease together globally; a 'World Malaria Day'. This day became a fact on April 25, 2007!
