October, 2008 - Drive Against Malaria's press conference with The
Minister of Health to Cameroon and American, British
& Dutch Ambassadors to Cameroon will be organised by the British
Embassy, Yaounde.
Malaria is still Cameroon single biggest health threat. 43% of
all hospitals admissions are due to malaria, 60% of these children
under five years. Malaria accounts for 40% of child deaths from
0-5 years; 50% of morbidity among children below 5; 40-45% of consultations
in hospitals and 35-40% of deaths registered in hospitals.
The Drive Against Malaria will distribute free long lasting mosquito
nets to the east and south of Cameroon during October November
and free combination therapy the heath regions int the south and
east at the highest risk of malaria.
